What Your Bengal Kitten Needs

Appropriate healthy diet: Many health issues in the cat and especially the Bengal cat have their roots in inappropriate nutrition. Please read the nutrition section. Which ever diet you choose, be sure it is complete and balanced and as close to the composition of what they would eat in nature as possible. Tall scratching post with perches. The scratching post provides an important outlet for the very necessary behavior of scratching as well as climbing. Scratching allows your cat to place pheromones from glands on the paws, allows your cat to groom and maintain nails, and also is stretching and soothing;  kind of like "kitty yoga".  Rather than discouraging your cat from scratching, encourage her to do it appropriately by immediately and gently putting her at the right place to scratch and rewarding her with praise when she uses the scratching post. Rubbing catnip on the scratching post can encourage her to use it. 

 Vertical space is important to your Bengal.  It is very natural for them to want to climb up high. They prefer to rest up high. A nice scratching post with a perch or perches is  a great way to offer more vertical space. There are a number of companies on the internet that can also provide wall shelf and perches for purchase.
